About City Astronomy
Welcome to CityAstronomy.com
Hi, my name is Darin Anthony. I am the creator of this site.
I have been fascinated with the night sky and beyond since my uncle, a science teacher, helped me organize my first science fair project. The subject was the planets of our solar system.
That year, NASA’s Voyager “1” shed light on some incredible discoveries; behold, Jupiter has rings! I was hooked. I immediately purchased a telescope, which marked the beginning of a lifelong journey of studying and observing the skies. My uncle had cracked open the door to the wonder and mystery of it all.
I am a digital media publisher and business owner. I have a past in financial research and worked in the technology sector for a fortune 500. I have and continue to research the skill of observing skies while remaining current on the latest astronomy news.
City Astronomy is committed to being a relevant and helpful resource to astronomy enthusiasts by providing the most accurate and up-to-date information in astronomy, astrophotography, observing equipment, and astrotourism.
“It’s been said that astronomy is a humbling and, I might add, a character-building experience.” – Carl Sagan
